Farris "Stinker" Lind opened his first gas station in Twin Falls in 1936. He eventually had dozens of stations, and was christened "Stinker" by his competitors, who were angry about his low prices. Lind created a pugnacious cartoon skunk for his logo, and named him "Fearless Farris."
