Al's is a high-quality, dim, old-school dive bar with pool tables, cheap-ass pints, and a delightful all-vinyl jukebox (with selections ranging from Black Flag to Neil Diamond). Cash only! The local hipster regulars are keen on giving Al's a one-star Yelp review, openly to "keep the pain-in-the-ass UW kids from finding out about it".

The bar menu overhead reads like a 1970’s skating rink concession stand. The food options, including “Bob’s Salty Nut Sack” for $1.75, are pretty limited. But nobody minds if you bring in your own food.
