Depoe Bay, OR

The Whale, Sea Life, and Shark Museum is the only whale museum in the state, and also the only museum in the world that focuses on local, individual gray whales. Whale excursions on Zodiac boats are available.

The ten whales painted on the outside of the building are all different, and depict individual whales that are regular summer visitors to Depoe Bay.

The whales frequent Depoe Bay every summer, which means this winter visit is a victim of bad timing. The museum was not open, and no zodiac excursions. Will need to come back for a more robust experience another season.
