It took 16 bullets to kill the nearly 7-foot-tall Cherokee "Bigfoot" Starr Wilkinson, who robbed and killed pioneers. The statue and memorial, dedicated on August 22, 1974, stands at the replica of Old Fort Boise. His name came from his large feet, not his resemblance to a hairy monster.
