Astoria, OR
Chief Comcomly died in 1830, and a statue of an Indian with a feathered headdress and a hatchet serves as a memorial in Greenwood Cemetery. The chief wears a tall feathered headdress and carries a hatchet. His symbolic burial canoe monument is a few miles north, next to the towering Astoria Column. He may be buried in the cemetery, or beneath the canoe, or maybe somewhere else. The statue commemorates the Comcomly tribe of the Clatsop Indians.
