That Northwest Bus

Washtucna, WA

The NW Bus is a roadside attraction that has been there for decades, the once yellow school bus has been rusting away and is now covered with graffiti. #ThatNWBus, social media named, has been seen by many travelers driving to Palouse Falls, Washtucna, and Ritzville.

The bus was originally located near the turnoff to Palouse Falls in between Washtucna and Kahlotus, farmers used to use it for storage. Now the famous #ThatNWBus is located on State Route 26 right before you turn right into the Ritzville exit.

The famous graffiti bus is now owned by the Heritage Museum in Washtucna, WA. The Department of Natural Resources seen the bus as more of a liability than a work of art, so the Heritage Museum had to think fast if they wanted to take ownership of the bus.

The bus formerly belonged to the Toppenish School District and is a 1955 Kenworth Pacific School Bus. The bus was originally bought at an auction.
