Two old growth cedar trees are strewn and covered with nailed-on pairs of shoes, from National Forest travelers who clearly have pairs to spare. Very unique shoe tree from several perspectives: 1) Two trees, equally and impressively adorned with discarded shoes, 2) Most shoes are nailed to the trees rather than slung over the branches (which are high and scarce), 3) The amazing quantity of shoes - literally covering the lower portions of both trees, and 4) The trees are in a very remote forest area miles of unpaved roads away from anywhere - not particularly easy to find, but people with extra shoes have clearly figured it out.
