Site of a Hooverville

Seattle, WA

The shanty towns that pockmarked America during the Great Depression were bulldozed long ago, but at least one "Hooverville" -- mockingly named for then-President Herbert Hoover -- has been remembered with a small historical plaque.

Before it was a Depression-era Hooverville, the site was the King St. Coal Wharf and then the Skinner & Eddy Shipyards.
