A 2-D Paul Bunyan, straddling a depiction of the Columbia River and dwarfing its trees, welcomes travelers to a roadside restaurant. The Bunyan depicted in this modern sign appears to stand several thousand feet high, and his big axe would seem to be superfluous; he could kick over an entire forest with one swing of his mighty boot.
Paul's toothy smile is meant to be inviting, but it looked to us like he was ready to bite something.
Oney's Roadhouse, the business advertised by the sign, is long gone. Paul still stands... for now.
