The film Napoleon Dynamite, chronicling a few weeks in the life of a high school geek, was released on June 11, 2004 and rapidly became a cult classic. It was shot almost entirely in and around the town of Preston.

Trisha's house appears when Napoleon drops by to deliver his invitation to the prom and his cringy drawing of Trisha, when Uncle Rico was present trying to impress Trisha's mom with a 32 piece set. Napoleon later returns to pick up Trisha for the dance.
