Napoleon Dynamite - Preston High School

Preston, ID

The film Napoleon Dynamite, chronicling a few weeks in the life of a high school geek, was released on June 11, 2004 and rapidly became a cult classic. It was shot almost entirely in and around the town of Preston.

The high school was a central location for the film. Scenes shot in front of the school include Pedro showing Napoleon his bike (the same bike rack remains in front of the school), Deb admiring Napoleon's drawing of a liger, Pedro and Napoleon on the front steps discussing Pedro's interest in running for president, a student being rescued from a bully by Pedro's cohorts, Pedro and Napoleon arriving to plaster the school with campaign posters, and Pedro and Deb on the front steps discussing Pedro being disciplined for smashing a Summer Wheatley piņata.

Was unable to gain access to the inside of the school, where I understand the lockers are still multi-colored like in the movie. There were discussions at one point of painting the lockers a single color, but it was decided to leave them as is.
