The film Napoleon Dynamite, chronicling a few weeks in the life of a high school geek, was released on June 11, 2004 and rapidly became a cult classic. It was shot almost entirely in and around the town of Preston.

Napoleon's house appeared several times in the movie - as Napoleon waits for the bus, when Deb appears trying to sell photos and keychains, when Uncle Rico reminisces about his football days on the front porch, when Napoleon tries to feed Tina, and other scenes.
