The film Napoleon Dynamite, chronicling a few weeks in the life of a high school geek, was released on June 11, 2004 and rapidly became a cult classic. It was shot almost entirely in and around the town of Preston.

The thrift shop is where Napoleon found an incredible suit to wear to the dance. Later, while browsing the thrift shop for treasures, he stumbled across the "D'QWON'S DANCE GROOVES" VHS tape that led to his epic dance performance for Pedro's campaign.
