The Foss Waterway Seaport is based in the historic Balfour Dock Building, built in 1900 and the last remaining segment of what was originally a half mile-long wheat warehouse and is located on the Thea Foss Waterway. It showcases and tells the important stories of regional maritime history in a Working Waterfront Maritime Museum; provides marine and environmental science education programing to area school students and adults; offers 1,200 lineal feet of floats for short-term temporary transient moorage; and hosts numerous waterfront and on water activities, festival and events.
