Rolon Bert Garner and Ken Leback's "Equality" (1996) is 35 identical small granite houses set on a grid, looking up at a larger, super-rich bronze house on a grassy park hillside.
As if to emphasize the point, a tent encampment for the homeless has been erected nearby.
Since 1996, when it was installed, the stained and tarnished rich guy's house is no longer so impressive. A bronze plaque, now missing, featured a lofty quote from Alexis de Toqueville's "Democracy in America," 1835.
