Full-size Dutch windmill is of fairly recent vintage, but it's abandoned and falling apart.

While visiting the windmill we fortunately ran into the daughter of John Bootsma, a Dutch immigrant. John built the windmill intending it to be the sales office for a nearby housing development he had in the works, complete with models of the prospective homes. Unfortunately, John passed away in 2010 before the project was completed.

When renovated, the windmill will be fully functional. The missing blade is available to any interested buyers wishing to give the windmill some TLC and a new purpose.

Mystery solved!
