There were three Northern Map turtles poking their heads up in the pond and Momma was keeping
an eye on this one as it got too close to her babies.

Amazing shot, you couldn't have arranged this better if you'd placed the mergansers yourself!! The turtle's head is the icing on the cake, so to speak. Love it!!

Nice shot of this little family and of Mom keeping a close eye on the turtle. She's probably already lost a few young to turtles etc, so she is extra vigilant.
