Sharp capture of this beautifully colored and nicely posed bird. Baltimore is only a 45-minute drive from here, but I have yet to see one of them on Capitol Hill.
Wow, this really is a surprise. From the thumb I thought it was going to a summer shot. Amazing that these neotropical migrants sometimes remain behind for whatever reason, and can even survive awhile if there is food. It will be really intersting to see if he comes regularly, or whether he is perhaps belatedly heading south. Fantastic shot, by the way!
