Black-crowned Night Heron (2 photos)

This adult was in another area of Mud Lake, further away but enjoying a meal of frog.
The sleeping mallard was unimpressed.

Same juvenile as other pictures but it landed briefly on another perch.

Two amazing shots, very impressive. As always, I feel very sorry for the prey, in this case, a frog, but I know that the herons have to eat too!
