First you find a nice old wet reed.
It will take 10 or more minutes to get the reed where you want it.
Then it's back to the river for another reed. Arrows show how first one is positioned.
Hopefully, the job is faster after the first few reeds are in place.
This is what you aim for - this is a neighbour's already completed nest. Hours of work.
