A Balancing Act

I visited the park for a walk in the sun and found this fellow creating a
rock garden. The paths are sheer ice as is the river but he had found
enough loose rock in the retaining wall to work with. In all there are
about 15-20 formations made.

This is a different artist than John Ceprano. He was a young man and I didn't get his name.

These sculptures are amazing! Same as at Remick Rapids. There are dozens of them. No glue is used, the sculptures are all different, stand on their own, of all shapes and sizes. They must be rebuilt every year as they will fall back in the fall/winter. The city of Ottawa has been involved in helping the artist for a number of years.

Artist John Felice Ceprano has created balanced rock sculptures by hand on the river’s edge since 1986. The artist uses fossilized and colourful rocks found on the shore to build these sculptures.

Very interesting capture, and looks and sounds like that must be quite a feat!
