Morning on the Ottawa River (3 photos)

Ice fishing on a misty morning.

A visitor to the river in the early morning - coyote tracks I think, in the fresh snow.
About 6-6.5cm (3") long and showing only the marks of the front toe nails. The tracks ran
in a straight line the whole length of the bay and beyond.
But could also be a red fox - hard to differenciate in the snow. I welcome
any help in identifying.

Fascinating. I hope the ice is thick too.

Three well captured images Linda. Can't help you on the ID of the tracks though.

Three lovely shots! If the tracks were only about 6 cm in length, they'd be red fox. Both fox and coyote leave a similar track pattern, as you noted.
