This female Downy has a short, thin beak and is the smaller
of the two woodpeckers. Both arrived within moments of the suet holders
being refilled.



This larger male Hairy Woodpecker's bill is almost as long as his head and much
thicker than the Downy's. They both busily stored suet under the tree bark.
