Spruce Sawyer and Shadow

This strange insect landed on a window screen - the pink is reflection from a lampshade inside.
I've never seen one before and he appeared several days at noon in the same spot.
The spruce sawyer is found across Canada and northeastern states. There is a white spot at the base
of his "neck" (elytra) and the fact that his antenna are twice as long as his body says he's a male.
