Mick On SnG Break In
Good Morning SnG owners....
------------------------
Okay…
First off, DON’T PANICK!!!!
All numbered SnG’s are hand fit one of a kind pieces.
Most need a small break in.
Here is a step by step of how you break in an SnG.
1. Use it. The thing BEGS to be used.
2. The first hundred or so times you open the knife,
open it using the proper folder opening technique.
This technique is taught by Mr Steve Tarani at all
of his folder classes. Here it goes, very basic;
Hold the knife in your strong side hand blade down.
Using your weak side hand, reach to the strong side
and snap the blade open strong and solid. I recommend
doing it as a drill. Put the knife wherever you carry it,
and practice, slow at first. Pull the knife,
open the knife, and prepare to use the knife.
Weather your cutting something or someone, get used
to deploying your knives in this way. Only good to be prudent.
3. If after using this technique for a few hundred openings,
feel free to one hand your knife or whatever. It is ready to serve at will.
3a. Alternate to this is to sit in front of your TV
watching Gladiator and slam the thing open a bunch of times.
If after all of this, you are having issues, please contact us, not your dealer.
The lock design of the SnG is very strong. But it is also
designed to be fairly easy to dis-engage. Your lock is
solid and strong no matter how deeply it sits. From just
inside the blade, to all the way inside the blade, it is
locked and strong. Even if you beat it to the point where
it is a wobble factory, the lock will not fail.
More on this later.
Have fun
