Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks,California
Just east of the San Joaquin Valley, these two national parks are home to the largest, in volume, of all trees of the world. Far to the east but still within the parks' boundary is Mt Whitney at 14,494 feet...the giant sequoias are found in both parks and draw tourists from throughout the world. An example of the size of the trees is the largest in this forest, the General Sherman, estimated to be 2,200 years old and its estimated weight is 1385 tons standing 275 feet tall with a base circumference of 103 feet.
