The Pink Houses - January 2008

In December of 2007, Brad Pitt as part of his Make it Right Project had an art installation done in the lower 9th ward of New Orleans. The 150 houses built of scaffolding and pink fabric represent the houses that were destroyed when the levees were breached on August 29, 2005. In the midst of the devastation that is still the 9th ward; the pink houses were a beacon of hope. $150,000.00 bought and can still buy a pink house, which will be replaced in time by new greener houses chosen the residents
