Photos taken while cave diving in Tulum area of Quintana Roo together with Edo de Jong. Caves pictured are Aktun Ha, Temple of Doom, Dos Ojos including "The Pit", Xunaan Ha, X´Tabay, Ponderosa, Chikin Ha, Nohoch. Dives without photos were made at Kapa Ha / Del Mar (Ox Bel Ha), Chan Hol, Equinox (Sac Aktun), and Jailhouse.
The way this works is: the diver taking the photo has a flash attached to the camera, which triggers the two flashes that the other diver carries along, or which are placed somewhere in the cave. Without the extra flashes you would only see the foreground lit up and the background all black.
