This bird only lives in the northern conifer forests - preferable in old forests where trees has a lot of lichen.
According to legends of the Same people (reindeer herders), the siberian jay helped them find their final resting grounds,
where it separated the harmless herders from the hunters. In Finland it is also called "the bird of soul",
as the soul of dead hunters were believed to pass on to a siberian jay.
Meeting it in the forest, the bird made a very strong impression on me, with it's soft and curious manners.
