Recent flood waters kept me a bit busy at the cottage for the last two weeks of April. This was due to our near record snowfall last Winter and a relatively warm Spring. An other 15 cm rise in water levels, and the lake would have been up to our foundations. All turned out well though and now we have our driveway and lawn back.
These three images show our cottage and those of our neighbours at the height of the flood. Having 65 cm of water on one's lawn comes with some advantages. It allowed me to take some nice shots of ducks and muskrats swimming and feeding on our lawn and as well, it brought the loons in much closer to shore.
The first (above) image shows our cottage as seen from the lake.
