Two images, one each of two different Great Egrets, taken about six days apart, but in the same location/setting. Both are accompanied by a sun-bathing turtle.
Top Image: This is the Egret I posted previously, the one with the missing right foot. It seems to be shedding its long breeding plumage feathers as one of its long feathers can be seen floating behind it.
Both feet can be seen for this Egret. It seems to have lost its long breeding attire. However, the long feather shed by the top Egret is still floating on the water. Like in the top photo, a Painted Turtle is perched on a nearby rock.
