Two images merged to have both birds in focus. Keeping the camera settings the same, I first focus on one bird and take a few shots; then, I focus on the other and again take a few shots. With telephoto lenses, (depending on your DOF), the bird not focused on (even though they are close) is usually soft and out of focus. Then in PP I merge two of the in focus bird images into one image to have both birds in focus in one image.
