Our Yard

A surprising visitor to our totally fenced-in yard. It has been raining here all day. That along with our covid restrictions made for a long-boring day. This Mallard came by to add a splash of colour and to check out the seeds below my feeders. I was able to get these full-frame shots through our kitchen window. This is the first time he's visited our back yard. About a week ago, he and his mate did check out our front yard covered in a fresh dusting of snow.

Top Image: On his way to the feeders.

Not too much there to his liking as the area had been well picked-over by Chipmunks, Squirrels and ground-feeding small birds. He flew off shortly after checking it out.

I was wondering if this was the guy sitting in the snow. I wonder of they will build their nest near your yard. Maybe they like having their photos taken!

How interesting, perhaps the pair were bored too, but not obeying stay at home rules! Superb shots.

Nice to have a spot of bird life and colour on the gloomy day yesterday. There’s a pair of mallards in our neighbourhood that visit us regularly.

An interesting yard bird collection you have. Love the strutting image. Nicely detailed water drops showing.

a fine catch of its wonderful colour...at least the drake thought your place well worth a second look..
