Four images of a Hawk Owl patiently searching for lunch from its high perch; then, swiftly and suddenly diving down to cath a vole and finally' flying up and settling down on another pertch to devour the vole.

Top Image: The Hawk Owl stared for a long time at the base of an adjacent tree.


Then, when it appeared to have spotted something, it quickly glanced around to see if the coast was clear.


Next, quick as lightening, it dove down to capture a vole near the base of a tree. (This image is a merger of a burst of three consecutive shots capturing the top half of the dive.)


It then flew to the top of another broken-off tree, where it perched, took a quick look around and started to consume its catch.
