Two images in this series "The Eyes Have It"
Top Image: The eyes of a Monarch are for me most difficult to capture. This is probably the best detail I've ever got. Monarchs are difficult to get too close to; hence, this was shot at close range with my 200 - 500mm lens and D800 camera.

The eyes of a Painted Lady have greater colour contrast and are much more pronouinced and detailed than those of the Monarch. Painted Ladies are also more approachable, hence this was shot at very close range with my 105mm lens and D7200 camera.
