GONE HOME, FIRST CLASS!
This little Oriole was found in the town of Pakenhan in late Fall, 2015. A first sighting ever for this area. A few weeks after this photo was taken, it was found on the ground below the apple tree, nearly frozen to death. A kind person found and retrieved it and brought it to the Wild Bird Care Centre where it recuperated from loss of weight and frost-bite. This week it was flown, compliments of Air Canada, to Vancouver, over 3000 Km west of us. There it is to be released into the wild among its kind. A story with a good ending.
