The Gray Jay was recently adopted (final approval pending)as Canada's National Bird. It is a small (Robben-size) Jay and resides year round almost exclusively in the northern boreal forests of Canada. It is found in every Province and Territory. It is clever, friendly and most hardy, even nesting, at times, in the coldest of winter. It hoards and stashes food in the Fall to have a sufficient supply through the winter.
