20160430 1693 Bald Eagle.jpg

Eastern Ontario

Reportedly one young hatched about a week before this shot was taken. I assume the second one (if there is a second) would have hatched shortly after the first. Presently, mom is sitting up higher than when I first saw her incubating the eggs. Presumably, she is sitting over and protecting the young.

Dad was perched in a nearby tree. He did fly to the nest, but I was not able to see if he brought food. After dad left, mom was busy feeding the young which were not yet visible.

All shots were taken from a considerable distance. This one from the side of the highway.

Terrific shot. The nest look large enough to accommodate a big family. V

Nice shot of the parent, Hank. If you want an "eagle eye's" view of a nest, check out:http://dceaglecam.org/

Those eaglets are much older than yours by now.
