Two images of Bonaparte's gulls in breeding plumage.
Most years, we might see an occasional Bonaparte's in full breeding plumage, usually we see only juvies and adults that are in the process of or have shed their breading coats. During the past few weeks, we have seen quite a number of the Bonaparte's Gulls still in breeding plumage. First one, then two, then three and more recently eight as per the two images herein. The Gulls in each sighting usually stayed for less than a day before moving on. So far, I've only seen one juvie this year, but I believe they usually come through a week or more after the adults.
