Two comparison images. The first of a Little egret, a first ever reported sighting for our province. The second of a Great Egret which used to be a rare sighting up until some 8 - 10 years ago. These are now not only regular visitors in significant numbers, but a number of them are now nesting here every year.
The Great Egret is considerably bigger that the Little Egret. It has a yellow bill and all black legs and feet. The little egret has a black bill , black legs and yellow feet. It is about the same size as a Snowy Egret.
