Three images of a Dragonfly, the name of which I was not sure of. I thought perhaps it was a Canada Darner?? Several people concurred with Canada Darner; however, after discussions with Chris Bruce and further checking, I've concluded this to be a female Black-tipped Darner. Thanks for everyone's input. For comparison, I've now also posted what I believe to be a Canada Darner - see http://www.pbase.com/hankvv/image/156935567
Top image: A close crop image.
A side-view closeup. Note the lines on the side of the thorax are relatively straight as usually found on the Black-tipped Darner.
An as close as I could get, Top-view, slightly cropped. Note the black tip at the bottom end of the abdomen, a condition typical of the Black-tipped Darner.
Note: The last image is made by combining images 101 & 103. For image 101, I focused on the head and for image 103 the focus was on the bottom part (abdomen). I then cloned the in-focus bottom part of # 103 over the slightly out-of-focus bottom part of # 101.
