Three images of a Thick-billed Kingbird. This bird is most rare for our province and country. Reportedly, there have been only two or three sightings in our province ever. It is native to Mexico and has reportedly moved up into the south-western US, mainly Arizona. It was first reported at Presqu'ile on Tuesday August 28. A few of us traveled the three hours to Presqu'ile the next day and we were fortunate to still find it there. The bird stayed up high in the tree-tops and was continually moving about catching insects - mostly wasps.
