Our CRUISE SHIP through the Mangroves. We spent about two hours on one of these little boats being either pushed along in the shallows by the captain in the rear or under motor power. From the size of the boat, one can imagine the difficulty taking photographs from such a small covered boat. Any sightings of birds would immediately result in every passenger straining their necks and shifting for a better or only view causing the boat to rock. Luckily I managed to secure a front-side seat which gave me some advantage over most of the other passengers. Also, we were fortunate to be the first of the boats in our excursion to leave, thus giving us a better chance to see the birds before they got scared away. The ever changing light conditions (dark-to-light-to-dark etc) was also a major challenge.
