My Backyard

Two images of the Spider repairing its web that I had inadvertently damaged whilst working in my garden.

Top Image: The Spider is rappelling down an existing web line towards a tall flower spooling out a new line from its spinneret as it descends. Note also the bunched-up broken lines.


The Spider on arriving at the intended flower, wraps the new line around it. It then ascends back up towards the center of the web spooling out another new line as it ascends.

She is really working hard, Hank. I love the way you have photographed her with the plant in the image to add perspective. Nice to see her black and yellow back too. This is the lovely Argiope aurantia.
