Two images of a Bonaparte's Gull. Three Bonaparte's Gulls were regulars at a local park for 2-3 weeks in September. They could generally be found flying back-and-forth over one of the ponds of the park, frequently diving down to grab a small minnow. They seldom stayed long on the water during their hunt. Over the next few days, I'll be posting some flight shots of these Gulls.

This was one of the few times that I was able to get a close up shot of one of the gulls, They were usually either in the air or,if on the water, they stayed far out.
