Four images taken in 2005 with my first DSLR camera. I had just started to take up wildlife photography that year, starting initially with a 3.2 megapixel Olympus point & shoot. I had no idea what kind of ducks these where when I took these images (See also http://www.pbase.com/hankvv/image/133255611 ). I noticed a lot of commotion in the water with three to four black-white ducks (males) calling on and then chasing and dunking a lone brownish duck (female); several times completely submerging her under the water.
Top Image: Three robust lads come calling on the lone female present.

The female would have none of it and promptly took off, with the males in hot pursuit.

A few of the males take to the air before again catching up with the female.

After subjecting the female to several complete dunkings, one of the boys emerges victorious and proudly swims off with his bride.
