After a successful day shooting White-tailed Does and Bucks yesterday, I decided to give it an other go as for the first time in what seems like weeks we finally got some good sunlight. When I arrived, there were several photographers already there clicking away at Big Daddy, the 10 pointer, who was again in hot pursuit of one of the Does. The big Buck and Doe disappeared into the woods shortly after I arrived.
Not long after the departure of Big Daddy, a smaller Buck appeared at the edge of the woods. This was a six pointer and one we had not encountered the previous day. This little Buck pranced around for a while and then left again. Shortly afterward, Big Daddy came snorting out of the woods, ready it seemed to take on the world. He was still in hot pursuit of the Doe. He chased the Doe around the clearing for some time. He got too close to us for comfort several times as the Doe would come around behind us. It appeared from the snorting and stomping that Big Daddy was ready to kick some "****" and that he might not tolerate any interference for much longer.
The following four images are of Big Daddy bursting out of the woods in pursuit of his Doe. He stomped, pawed, reared and relieved himself in the corner of the clearing, perhaps to mark his territory or maybe just to show his displeasure at us still being there.
