For two years, I and many others have been photographing the development of the owlets raised by a pair of Great Horned owls that have called Mud Lake "HOME" for a number of years. I've combined photos for 2005 (two young, but one died) and 2006 (two thriving young) in order to better provide a view of their development from the day they hatched untill they could scarcely be found due to the dense foilage and their ability to hide high up in the trees. Their rate of growth is nothing but phenominal. The owlets of 2005 hatched on or about March 29, while those of 2006 hatched about three weeks earlier, possibly on acount of a mild Spring.
