These are pictures of the Sabal Palm Audubon Sanctuary. Which is south of Brownsville, Texas. This sanctuary is located
right on the Rio Grande River, and one point is the most southern point in Texas. This park contains over 500 acres of the
only remaining native sabal palm trees. These trees once covered vast forested areas of the Lower Rio Grande Valley, but
are now gone except for this one small natural forest. It is very different walking in a forest of natural palm trees.
This sanctuary has many wandering trails, and a few small lakes. It's main attraction is as one of Texas' birding hot spots.
