Includes part of a catalog from 1877 as shown in "10 Old Gun Catalogs" by L.D.Satterlee printed by Gun Digest in 1962. The question of what "Grade" a Remington Rolling Block is was described within. That page is included from page 13. The plainest grade was Grade A , most expensive was Grade F. Also shown in this little gallery is the two types of Breech Blocks. The higher grade guns used a firing pin cam to prevent a stuck firing pin tip from being broken off upon opening the action. All Remington major parts were marked with the rifle's serial number. Fore arms were the toughest to mark. The end grain had a tendancy to swell from moisture over the years making the number stamps almost disappear.
